Intricate braids, texturised top buns and glam waves set the scene at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. Ponytails were seen both low+messy and high+sleeked back – a stylish feature to enhance any outfit. The hair-down looks were more natural and effortless, parting in the middle or on the side to achieve an organic texture. Here’s a round up of our favourite styles!
Steven Khalil: Modern Braided Updos & Mustard Smokey Eyes
We loved Sharon Blain’s modern take on braids for the Steven Khalil show. From the front, it looked like a sleek, classic updo, but from the back we could see an intricate and glamorous braid detail. Makeup was clean and understated, featuring nude lips with the focus on matte mustard tones for the eyes and rosy cheeks.
Galanni: Loose waves and golden radiance
The sexy wave hairstyles created by Ida Tirimacco for Galanni are the ultimate date night look, with curls floating down the models’ shoulders and an old-Hollywood twist. Make up kept fresh and glowing, with metallic eyes and shimmering skin creating a beautiful addition to the glittering gowns.
Michael Lo Sordo: Sporty knots and berry lips
Richard Kavanagh was inspired by Michael Lo Sordo’s whimsical and strong garments to create a relaxed, texturised knotted style with loose little flyaways. The makeup look sported clean skin sculpted to highlight the models’ cheekbones complemented by bold, matte berry lips and nails.
